JOB DESCRIPTION

A leading Insuretech companies is expanding their worldwide operation to Canada.  We are looking for a dynamic Business Analyst to join their team in 2021!

Overview:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• Minimum 5 years business analyst experience

• Insurance experience including Property and Casualty Lines

• Understanding of and hands-on experience in claims and reinsurance

• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

• Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills

• Fluent in English and French

• Experience implementing insurance software a plus

Responsibilities:

• Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and     developing and implementing solutions

• Performing requirements analysis

• Documenting business processes and requirements

• Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies

• Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements

• Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings

• Conducting training sessions and writing “how to†manuals

• Effectively communicating insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management

• Gathering critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports

• Working closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff

• Performing user acceptance testing

• Updating, implementing and maintaining procedures

• Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements

• Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and users

• Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems

• Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff

Claims Adjuster –  Vancouver


Job Description/Accountabilities:

  • Investigate and negotiate Ovation and RBC High New Worth / RBC Private Insurance auto and property claims in accordance with Aviva’s best practices and handling procedures Responsible for the issuance of payments to vendors, customers and experts.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data captured in Aviva systems Analyze estimates, the value of claims, negotiate and settle claims accordingly Interpret and apply Aviva Ovation high net worth personal policy coverage related to the loss.
  • Communicate policy coverage and benefits to customers Investigate and document cause of loss and quantum.
  • Ability to work in a low-volume phone queue environment as a first responder for Ovation policyholders and brokers.
  • Review, comment on and approve vendor partner estimates for the cost of repairs or replacement of damaged or destroyed property.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in management of customer claims.
  • Acquire and maintain appropriate provincial adjuster licenses and comply with continuing education requirements – where required.
  • Own the customer relationship and outcomes on claims of varying quantum and complexity.
  • Determine when fieldwork is required and co-ordinate the field resource required as well manage the information coming from the tasks.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of previous first party personal auto and/or property claims handling CIP or FCIP Industry designation or other relevant professional insurance qualification University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent Property technical work experience Preference will be given to candidates with prior high net worth/VIP or specialty market claims experience Preference will be given to any candidate who is bilingual English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin (or both) Experience using Xactanalysis, Xactimate, Audatex, Edjuster, Guidewire ClaimCenter Superior technical competence in Personal insurance Experience in handling VIP/high net worth, Private Client claims handling Basic property claims scoping and estimating understanding/knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong communication skills – ability to communicate diplomatically and empathetically and listen effectively Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Superior analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work overtime when required Bilingualism (English-Mandarin/English- Cantonese) is an asset.  (English/French candidates are also encouraged).
